Nostalgia is inspired by the traditional Ferris wheel as a symbol of modernity and innovation, I was interested in redesigning and queering its form. Constructed from a variety of mixed metals, the individual faces of the wheel were first welded. Here, I was drawn to creating a sun-like pattern within the wheel. From there, I welded the triangular base. Ultimately, the redesigned wheel is designed for its user. The user can play with and spin the wheel and watch as the colors of the holographic mylar change.
